The role of the Diaconate is to minister to the congregation by providing support to church members and our wider community in times of need. We seek to provide emotional and prayerful support to all who are going through difficulties and wherever possible seek to assist with meeting practical needs.
The Diaconate works under the authority of the Ministers and the Elders. The leading of the Holy Spirit is at the centre of everything that we do and we are only able to function in our role through the wisdom and provision of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Our heart as Deacons is that no person connected to the church would be feeling isolated or alone, especially during this time of COVID-19. In the book of 1st Corinthians, Paul talks a great deal about how members of the Church are all a part of one body. 1 Corinthians 12:26 says “If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.”
We do not want anyone that is in need to be left to struggle and battle in that need on their own. As Deacons, we may not always be able to physically help with every need, but we will try our best to assist you and we will ensure that you are not left to face times of trial on your own.

In certain circumstances, the need may arise to share information you have disclosed with another person or group outside of the Diaconate. Should this need arise, we would only pass on your information after first speaking with you.
There are a variety of ways in which you can partner with us to support our ministry and help meet the needs of our congregation and wider community.
Prayer is the foundation of everything we do. As a Diaconate, we rely on the leading of our Lord Jesus to carry out this ministry. The best way you can support us is by regularly praying for our ministry, for our unity as a Diaconate and for the direction of the Holy Spirit in how to best ascertain and support the needs of our congregation.
We are always welcoming of any dry goods and toiletry donations (subject to current COVID-19 restrictions).
