The disciple whom Jesus loved learned to rest

The disciple whom Jesus loved learned to rest

“Be still, and know that I am God…” Rest is not something we do very well in our society. It is vitally important that we stop, take time out to be refreshed by God. Resting is not just sleeping, but actually tuning our hearts and ears to God, that we might meet with Him.

I’ve been Redeemed!

I've been Redeemed!

This year the Passover and Easter coincide. The wonderful truth of the redemption God has provided in Jesus is seen beautifully in the life of Mary Magdalene. Her mind had been controlled by evil thoughts, but the risen Jesus set her completely free.

This is the man whom God delights to honour!

This is the man whom God delights to honour!

God answers Psalm 43:3 with Jesus

God answers Psalm 43:3 with Jesus

What is it about Jesus that makes two fisherman immediately leave their boats and follow Him? What is it about Jesus that turns an angry man, a ‘son of thunder’, into a man who lay on the breast of Jesus?

Eὐλαβής – Devout

Eὐλαβής - Devout

Only Luke uses the Greek word “Eὐλαβής” four times in the New Testament to describe different men- we often translate it ‘devout’. But what does it really mean to be a devout man?

Just Obediently Yielding

Just Obediently Yielding

Jesus Christ entered the world into an immoral society – similar to and if not worse than the society we currently live in. God is always saying “Do not fear!” and wants to remind us that nothing is impossible with Him. The stage is being set for God to come down again by His Holy […]
