“No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code.” – Romans 2:29
Circumcision in the Old Testament, a mark of God’s covenant with Abraham, was a sign that pointed towards a new covenant – through Jesus. Physical circumcision does not save us, but our hearts are to be circumcised by the Spirit, as we repent from our sin, letting God cut away all the things from our Heart that displease him.
